This is Part 8: The third beast continued…
Introduction
Hypothesis: Daniel’s vision of a third beast, like a leopard, may represent a dark supernatural beast of chaos.
In Daniel 7:6
6 After this I looked, and behold, another, like a leopard, with four wings of a bird on its back. And the beast had four heads, and dominion was given to it.

Traditional Interpretations
Traditional scholars interpret the beast with four wings as the swiftness of Alexander the Great’s sudden rise and conquest of the Persian Empire from 334-331 B.C. After his death, the empire was divided into four kingdoms. The new kingdoms were
Greece and Macedon,
Thrace and Asia Minor,
Middle East-Asia, and
Egypt-Palestine.
This is a historicist view; it implies Daniel’s prophecy was fulfilled.
Daniel Chapter 7 does not specifically interpret the wings or heads of the third beast, nor is the beast associated with Greece in the chapter, just a “kingdom”. Therefore, this traditional interpretation is debatable. Furthermore, in Daniel’s vision, the Ancient of Days destroys the fourth beast by fire ( Revelation 19:20).
In the context of celestial research, the prophetic horizon is extended through Signs in Heaven, which indicate an end-times series of telescoping prophecies unveiled in the lion, bear, and now the Panther. Previous research has shown a possible correlation between the first beast and the 2017 solar eclipse in Leo. Furthermore, the second beast may be correlated with the 2020 Comet, with three tails in the bear's mouth.

The Unseen Realm
The late Dr. Michael Heiser, Biblical scholar and author of The Unseen Realm, explains on The Naked Bible Podcast that biblical authors, such as Daniel, may have used imagery from neighboring pagan religions.
Dr. Michael Heiser breaks down the four-winged, four-headed, leopard-like beast (from the Daniel 7:6 vision) and its connections to ancient Near Eastern/Babylonian chaos systems, primarily in Episodes 383: Revelation 13 and 355: Revelation 1:7-20.

Corruption of the Mazzaroth?
The initial post-flood kingdom was led by Nimrod, whom we looked at earlier in this series. Nimrod became the root of corruption.
Did Nimrod corrupt the Mazzaroth to worship demonic deities through the Tower of Babel? Did he rewrite the meaning of the constellations to rebel against God?
The Creator God originally named the stars (Psalm 147:4). He did not intend for them to be worshipped as deities, especially demonic ones.
He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.

Scholars believe Nimrod was pictured in the Heavens as the constellation of Orion, a giant who carries a panther pelt. This interpretation may also have been a corruption of the constellation’s original meaning.
Orion in the Mazzaroth denotes “coming forth as light”. Betelgeuse, the bright star in Orion’s raised arm, denotes “the branch who comes”. The star in Orion’s foot, Rigel, denotes “the foot that crushes”.3 These star names imply that Orion originally had a Gospel storyline associated with the Protoevangelium in Genesis 3:15.
Traditional astronomers believed the constellation originated from the Greeks or Babylonians; however, the Bible states the stars were named by God at Creation (Psalm 147:4). It does look like there is evidence that Nimrod, the evil ruler, blasphemed the God of Heaven and Earth by renaming the Heavenly storyboard.
The Panther was originally a swan and an eagle, known as Cygnus and Lyra, respectively. The stars Deneb in Cygnus and Vega in Lyra together denote the “Lord comes, and the Lord be exalted”. Nimrod tried to erase the beautiful Heavenly soaring birds with a winged panther-demon of chaos.

Heiser’s reference to “chaos systems” mirrors the panther Anzu, the beast of chaos in Babylonian mythology.

Who is Anzu?
Anzu embodies chaos, subversion, unpredictability, rebellion, and disorder in the cosmos. Anzu is the great panther-demon, the divine beast of Nergal. By association, Nergal is the constellation of Pabilsag; therefore, we can associate the Panther with Anzu.
